We're excited to announce some new events and programs to help you hone your race walk skills.
1. Mileage Challenge. Ashley is managing a mileage challenge, which is free to all current RWNW members. Click on this link to sign up. Each month you'll log in and record the miles that you've completed at club walks, races, or on your own. Yes, we're going with the honor system! Prizes will be awarded at the end of the year, but watch for monthly incentive prizes, too! There is no deadline to sign up, but we hope you'll join us today.

On June 17th, plan your Father-Daughter 3k race. We'll have a 10k for Adults. Our last race of the year will be July 8th on the Tektronix Track for our first annual Dual Duel, covering 5 miles in two-person teams.

Four women with ties to Oregon competed in the National 50k Race Walk Championships on Sunday, November 22nd. Milwaukie HS graduate, Erin Taylor-Talcott, was the overall winner in a time of 5:02:48, former RWNW member, Katie Grimes finished second in 6:03, Carmen finished behind her in 6:26:18 and another former member, Darlene Backlund, took fourth place in a time of 7:02:35, along with a world record in the 70+ age group. Times were slow due to high temperatures which quickly rose to the mid-upper 80's.
Carmen recapped her race in her newsletter and ReShod Walking Shoes Facebook page. Ashley competed in the Non-Championship 20k race and cut over three minutes off last year's time, despite the heat. Read Ashley's recap of the race here.
